Shinpei Ueno Embroiders His Tattoo Onto Converse Skateboarding's Staple Footwear
Serving luxurious velvet takes on the CS Slip-On SK and CK Pro SK Hi.

Converse Skateboarding team member Shinpei Ueno follows up on his Converse collaboration from 2021 with another signature release, this time around reworking the CS Slip-On SK and CK Pro SK Hi with inspirations near and dear to him.
Both offerings are crafted from velvet and feature embroidery styled on the phoenix tattoo that Ueno has on his leg, giving the pairs a luxurious feel. This is continued with elevated touches such as leather branded insoles and premium waxed laces on the high-top pair, yet of course, as these are from Converse Skateboarding a number of tactile touches also appear.
For example, both pairs are foam-padded for extra comfort — particularly noticeable on the slip-on’s collar — while elements like gunmetal eyelets and zippers make for a hardwearing silhouette designed to last. The midsoles are thick and smooth on the sides, but an extra layer of rubber graces the toe for more protection on the foot, and the outsoles are specifically engineered to be skated in.
More foam has been added to the tongue on the high-tops for a better fit, while both are finished off with a Converse Skateboarding license plate on the rear.
