Nike Reveals Special Edition Air Force 1 High Vintage "Sail" Inspired by Original '82 Release
In celebration of the AF1’s 40th birthday.
In celebration of the Air Force 1‘s 40th anniversary, Nike has revealed a special edition high-top for the silhouette. The Nike Air Force 1 High Vintage “Sail” arrives as a part of the brand’s “Anniversary Collection.”
The shoe is dressed in an understated color scheme featuring sail, medium grey, light bone and coconut milk. The style pays homage to the original design of the shoe, which was first released in 1982. The silhouette even includes the mesh mid-panels, while the sail hue on the upper offers a vintage aesthetic. The silver Swoosh branding brings the shoe to contemporary times, while the OG branding on the tongue tags and insoles reminds wearers of the history of the shoe. The continued vintage theme is visible on the pre-yellowed midsole as well as the grey rubber outsole completing the design of the AF1.
This silhouette is slated to release in Spring 2022 at an expected retail price of $130 USD. Stay tuned on Nike for more information.
