New Balance Expands Its 2002R "Protection Pack" With a Worn Aesthetic for SS22
The aged look will drop later this year.

New Balance continues to grow its 2002R “Protection Pack.” The initiative, which was originally announced in 2021, is a deconstructed rendition of the 2002R. In the past year since its release, the “Protection Pack” has garnered great reviews from the footwear community which led to a slew of highly sought-after colorways.
New Balance is dropping another offering for its 2002R “Protection Pack” model, this time in a worn and aged aesthetic, just in time for the Spring/Summer 2022 season. Arriving in the staple deconstructed motif with various “unfinished” overlays styled in white and appearing to be smudged from usage, the shoe features premium material. The shoe utilizes mesh, suede and leather to create the deconstructed look. An open foam tongue sits atop a classic Abzorb midsole, while the N-energy outsole rounds out the design.
