Speedrunner Completes 'Elden Ring' In Under 29 Minutes
The first sub-30 minute run in the world.
A speedrunner has managed to complete Elden Ring in just under 29 minutes.
The new world record comes from prolific Dark Souls speedrunner Distortion2, who managed to finish the massively popular game in just 28 minutes and 59 seconds, managing what he believes to be the world’s first sub-30 minute completion of Elden Ring.
The run itself is an “Any%” run, which means Distortion2 aims to get from the beginning of the game to the end credits as quickly as possible without completing every single quest and task in the game, but what’s impressive is that his time has constantly been improving. Following a comprehensive playthrough, the speedrunner first posted a record time of 49 minutes and 29 seconds. Since then, he’s made multiple attempts and improved his time through the 30-minute range to finally reach his latest record after five record-breaking tries.
Of course, as with any speedrunner, there’s no doubt Distortion2 will continue to attempt at reducing his run time, so fans of the game should stay tuned over on his YouTube channel for more potential record breakers.
