STAMPD’s 2022 Resort Collection Makes for a Traveler’s Versatile Carry-On Capsule
Muted, light and airy basics for any destination ahead.
Having mastered the art of minimalism, STAMPD’s fluid expression of surf culture interprets sparse use of color as reserved excess. STAMPD collections offer a more refined take on LA’s vibrant scenery by embracing fluid lines and breathable basics that loosely float on the body. For the 2022 Resort collection, the label envisions airy, monochromatic staples with versatile appeal. Whether you’re spending winter in Venice or braving the East Coast’s tundra, these silhouettes translate as go-to essentials for early-morning flights and last-minute travel destinations.
“Checked Out,” like many STAMPD collections, zones in on versatile layering. The range draws inspiration from metropolitan and rural landscapes and consists of soft-washed shirts, shorts and jogger sets. The color story is dominated by creamy grays and taupes, with pops of seaside blue and graphic motifs adorning each piece. With this palette, building last-minute capsules for a weekend getaway is simplified and consolidated — this extends to the fabrics, which vary in weight and utility. Cool-weather pieces come in with the travel bomber jacket, a smokey gray zip-up fitted with a ribbed standing collar, oversized flap pockets and ribbed cuffs, and the blacked-out zip-up features a spread collar with ribbing at the sleeves and waist for added shape. Highlighted in the range is a deconstructed blazer and pantsuit, which reimagines these classic silhouettes with clean, minimalist lines and an oversized drape.
In terms of prints, the collection introduces a breathy cloud motif capturing overcast skies and moody tropical climates. In contrast, its sister style is enveloped in a geometric pattern punctuated by black-and-white colorblocking. The cool-toned blue sweatshorts nod to tinted curacao — a reminder to check out with a drink or two.
