Gatorade Introduces New Smart Bottle and Gummies
Bringing tech designed for world-class athletes to the masses.
Gatorade has a history of serving athletes. Beginning in 1965 as a University of Florida football experiment to replenish carbohydrates burned during exercise, Gatorade has always kept its athletes as its primary focus. Whether it be the world’s top talent or someone’s first time picking up a sport, Gatorade’s ecosystem is designed to ensure the athlete puts their best foot forward.
Last year, Gatorade and the Gatorade Sports Science Institute put their 30+ years of research and insights to use with the introduction of the Gx Sweat Patch. Now, the duo is taking things to the next level with the introduction of the Gatorade Smart Gx Bottle and Gatorade Gummies, further expanding the Gatorade ecosystem.
With the Gatorade Smart Gx Bottle, users are prompted to set hydration goals, as guided by the Gatorade Gx App. Tracking this progress, the Smart Gx Bottle utilizes its sensor in the cap to calculate how much liquid is in the bottle when resting on a flat surface. Noting the missing liquid over time, it calculates consumption and provides accurate insights into the user’s hydration status. The bottle’s lid indicates daily progress and reminds the user to drink water regularly via push notifications or a flash on the bottle.
With the new Gatorade Gummies, the brand has developed its first supplements, targeting recovery and immune support respectively. Both are formulated with key nutrients such as Vitamin D to assist athletes before, during and after exercise.
Now, with the introduction of the Smart Gx Bottle and Gummies, Gatorade has expanded its ecosystem greatly. Pairing with the Gatorade Gx App, personalized fuel plans are available based on elements such as activity, goals, duration and more, guiding users to appropriately utilize the brand’s various products.
Both the Gatorade Smart Gx Bottle and Gatorade Gummies have now launched via Gatorade. The bottle’s kit is priced at $70 USD and includes four packs of pods, two packs of Gx Sweat Patches and a personalized Smart Gx Bottle. As for the gummies, they’re available exclusively via Gatorade.com at a price of $26 USD for a single bottle containing 30 servings and $47 USD for a bundle of both bottles.
