Following the release of a teaser trailer at the recent D23 Expo, Disney has now delivered the first poster for the live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. The new poster offers the first full look at Halle Bailey as Ariel, perched on a rock formation staring up at the surface of the water.

Halle Bailey took to Twitter to also share the poster along with a tweet that read, “Words can’t describe how immensely honored I feel to play the mermaid of my dreams, Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Come under the sea with me, in theaters May 26, 2023.”

Bailey was cast to play the iconic Disney mermaid princess back in July 2019, and the film releasing this holiday season is directed by Rob Marshall.

Check out the first poster for Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid releasing May 26, 2023 in theaters above.
