Japanese video game studio Square Enix has shared a new trailer for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. The upcoming action role-playing game is a retelling of the studio’s popular Final Fantasy franchise set in an alternative universe.
The dark fantasy story follows a man named Jack, who is joined by allies Ash and Jed, on his journey to defeat the demonic monster Chaos. Along the way, Jack faces different monsters from the Final Fantasy series, which he will face off against using both physical and magical attacks.
The game is co-directed by Square Enix’s Daisuke Inoue and Hiroya Usuda and Nobumichi Kumabe from Team Ninja.
Players anticipating its release will be excited to learn that Stranger of Paradise will receive a digital deluxe edition, offering them a digital artbook, digital mini soundtrack and a DLC Season Pass that includes additional missions.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will launch on the Epic Games Store for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC on March 18. Players who place digital pre-orders for the game will early access 72-hours beforehand and in-game items.
