Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games on Tuesday announced that a multitude of new Star Wars titles are currently being developed via Respawn Entertainment.

Respawn’s founder, Vince Zampella, will oversee the production of three new games in the franchise. Stig Asmussen is slated to helm the upcoming installment in the Star Wars Jedi series, and Peter Hirschmann will take the reigns on a new Star Wars first-person shooter game.

“Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell,” said Hirschmann in a statement.

Meanwhile, Greg Foertsch, video game developer Firaxis’ previous art director, will lead a new strategy game that will be built in partnership with Bit Reactor.

“We are excited to continue working with the superbly talented developers at Respawn,” said Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games. “They have demonstrated excellence in telling epic Star Wars stories along with best-in-class gameplay across different genres and we are looking forward to bringing more amazing experiences to the galaxy far, far away.”

A release date has not yet been revealed for the upcoming games. Stay tuned for more information.

In case you missed it, Apple’s gaming revenue reportedly exceeds Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo combined.
