Awake NY Dives Into Lacoste’s Archive For Debut Collaboration
Heritage sportswear meets New York street style.

After ending last year with a duo of collaborative releases alongside ASICS and Sam Friedman, Angelo Baque’s Awake NY label returns for 2022 in conjunction with Lacoste for a twelve-piece unisex capsule.
Designed to be worn on both Parisian and New York City streets, Baque has delved into the French sportswear label’s archive to reimagine some of Lacoste’s most epochal silhouettes in an unmistakable Awake NY way.
“Partnering with Lacoste gave us the opportunity to do something unexpected,” said Baque of the collaboration. “Their preppy aesthetic is very different from our own. Accessing the archives and immersing myself in Lacoste’s heritage really inspired us to create something that’s both versatile and functional. Any two pieces from the collection can be paired together.”
Deep greens, blues, reds and creams take centre stage, as a wash effect on a striped polo offers a vintage feel. A checkered cardigan, Campers baseball hat and embroidered jumper adorn both brand logos in a jacquard technique, while oversized logos blend the Lacoste crocodile with an “A” varsity letter on select pieces.
The Lacoste x Awake NY collection is set to drop on January 26 at 11am EST via both the Lacoste and Awake NY webstores.
