When Nike first introduced the Pegasus in 1983, it was billed as the “shoe for every runner,” a versatile, adaptable style that could take anything that was thrown at it. Now, almost forty years later, the Pegasus line is still running along — and its very first model, the Air Pegasus ‘83 has enjoyed a second life as a casual favorite. After surfacing in “Blue Void” and “Stone” makeups earlier this year, the heritage runner has now popped up in “Twine,” a tan, workboot-like makeup.

The Air Pegasus ’83’s sturdy nylon and suede makeup lends itself well to earthy color schemes, and here both shaggy overlays and sleek base layers are dressed in tan tones. These hues are offset by an off-white shade dubbed “Coconut Milk” that takes up residence on the large midfoot Swooshes, the heel tabs and the nylon tongues. Black branding on both tongue tags and heel tabs alike adds a finishing dash of style to the top half, while down below two-tone white and tan midsoles sit atop Bill Bowerman‘s famed black waffle outsole to complete the look.

Expect the Nike Air Pegasus ‘83 “Twine” to release August 21 via the Nike webstore and retailers like Asphalt Gold. Its MSRP is set at an even $100 USD.
