Daniel Lee‘s Bottega Veneta first debuted the Puddle Boots during its Fall/Winter 2020 runway show, and since we’ve been treated to numerous colorways, sandal iterations, wellington versions, and now as part of the Wardrobe 02 collection, the Puddle Bomber boots.
The Puddle Bomber goes to show how a simple silhouette and signature colors that have helped to define the luxury label make for a strong marketing tactic, as these boots are destined to be BV’s next must-have seasonal pair. In fact, this is currently the brand’s only marketing tactic seeing it doesn’t have any social media presence.
Regardless, the boots are going to make a stand — especially in colors such as “Grass,” “Flamingo” or “Egg Yolk.” There’s also “String” and “Black” with “Grass” laces for something less garish, but no matter which colorway you opt for you’re going to be repping the colors of the house — and that’s exactly what makes these boots stand out.
Aside from the colorways, the boots are quite good in themselves. Made from 50-percent polyamide and 50-percent rubber, they come up over the top of the foot in height and feature a platform rise of 6cm. Luxurious leather branded insoles give an elevated twist to the utilitarian pair of boots, which thanks to their composition, will stand up against all kinds of weather conditions making them perfect for the soon-coming fall days.
Each colorway of the Bottega Veneta Puddle Bomber boot is available for pre-order on the Bottega Veneta website now, costing $990 USD each.
