Reebok‘s retro basketball category boasts a handful of striking silhouettes, one of which is the Kamikaze II which is often associated with Seattle Supersonics legend Shawn Kemp. The model has seen a substantial amount of action this year so far by taking on collaborative projects with NERF and Candy Land, and now it’s appeared in a fresh “Modern Beige” palette.
The concept behind this latest take is the merger of hoops and hiking. The “Modern Beige” hue does the heavy lifting here as it sprays over the upper’s leather base, laces and zig-zagged suede overlays. Aside from this earthy tone, “Pixel Mint” accents are sprinkled the Reebok branding that sit along the forefoot, tongues and heels to speak to its trail-inspired theme. Midsoles are done up with a two-toned look, a “Stucco” hue being the most prominent as the backdrop, while more minty touches are dropped off on the mountainous patterns across the heel. Bringing its entire look together is the treading which is also drenched in the silhouette’s nominal color.
These are scheduled to drop on the Reebok online store come July 2, and retail price is set at $120 USD.
