Lorde Reveals Tracklist and Release Date for New Album 'Solar Power'
Along with a world tour, scheduled to begin at the top of 2022.
Following her grand return to music with the release of “Solar Power” earlier this month, Lorde has officially unveiled the tracklist for her upcoming album, also titled Solar Power, along with a release date of August 20.
Additionally, Lorde has announced a 2022 tour, slated to commence in February in her native New Zealand, before moving to the United States and Canada in the spring and ending in Europe and the United Kingdom in the summer.
Lorde began teasing the follow-up to 2017’s Melodrama with a simple cover art image posted to her official website in early June, before sharing “Solar Power” with a music video co-directed by Joel Kefali and the artist herself two days later. “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” Lorde wrote in a newsletter in tandem with the single’s debut.

The record will be available to purchase as “an eco-conscious Music Box,” which includes visual content, handwritten notes, photos and a download card, as an alternative to a typical CD. The download card will arrive equipped with two exclusive bonus tracks.
“I decided early on in the process of making this album that I also wanted to create an environmentally kind, forward-thinking alternative to the CD,” Lorde said in a statement. “I wanted this Music Box product to be similar in size, shape and price to a CD, to live alongside it in a retail environment, but be something which stands apart and that’s committed to the evolving nature of a modern album.”
