Butter Goods Reworks the PUMA Basket VTG With Full Corduroy Uppers
The Australian skate label was inspired by sports advertising from late ‘90s and early 2000’s for this collection.

For Spring 2021, PUMA has been cranking out many a footwear collaboration with the likes Rhuigi, White Castle and Ferrari, and now the sportswear brand is recruiting Butter Goods — a skate imprint based out of Perth, Australia — into its roster. This partnership is a lover letter to sports advertising of the late ’90s and early 2000’s era, and includes a corduroy-treated take of the PUMA Basket VTG along with a matching graphic t-shirt.
Instead of using the traditional smooth leather constructions for the upper, Butter Goods reimagines the lifestyle model with an upper that’s both creamy and corduroy. The form stripes on the lateral and medial sides usher in some slight contrasting as they are presented with a soft gray suede. Branding is minimal and only shows up on the tongues via a black and white PUMA logo that rests below a “Butter” spell out in green and white. Below, the sole unit is dripped in a full white tone. Alongside the kicks is a white graphic tee that features a vintage PUMA cat above the Butter Goods logo.
If interested in copping, you can find the Butter Goods x PUMA collection dropping via PUMA on June 24.
