Joe Freshgoods and New Balance have revealed their latest collaboration: a bold take on the 990v3. Debuting on the cover of Sneaker Freaker Magazine’s 45th issue, Freshgoods’ new design mixes tones both sporty and earthy — providing an apt follow up to his New Balance 992 “No Emotions Are Emotions” from 2020.

This 990v3 is essentially a tale of two palettes, thanks to a bright blue mesh base that clashes joyfully with brown and tan suede overlays. A lighter aqua blue is used on the midfoot’s N logo, while bright green is introduced into the mix on the top eyelets and tongue branding. More green is used on the heels for Freshgoods’ cursive script logo as well. Down below, ENCAP midsoles complete the look with their own mixture of brown, blue and tan.

Currently, there’s no official release date or pricing information available for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v3. However, it’s looking as if it’ll be an eventful year for the highly-regarded 990v3 thanks to both Freshgoods and Bodega, who recently revealed its own collaborative iteration. You can also pick up a copy of Sneaker Freaker Issue #45 for $10 USD from the Sneaker Freaker webstore.
