Mads Mikkelsen Officially Joins 'Indiana Jones 5' Cast
Following the recent casting of Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the Harrison Ford-led film.
Mads Mikkelsen is officially set to apper alongside Harrison Ford in the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 installment.
The Danish actor’s casting arrives just days after sources stated that Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be joining the cast as the female lead. Just like the role of Waller-Bridge, Disney and Lucasfilm did not divulge any information on Mikkelsen’s character and the extent of his involvement.
As previously reported, Indiana Jones 5 officially received the green light during the Disney Investors Presentation in December 2020 with production scheduled to begint this Summer. James Mangold will be taking over for Steven Spielberg as director while the franchise’s staple composer John Williams will be returning to score the film.
In addition to appearing in Indiana Jones 5, fans can expect Mikkelsen to take on the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the third Fantastic Beasts installment after Warner Bros. asked Johnny Depp to resign. He will also join Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland in the film adaptation of the Chaos Walking book The Knife of Never Letting Go, set to release in 2021.
Elsewhere in entertainment, the Gucci family expressed their disappointment in Ridley Scott’s upcoming thriler, House of Gucci.
