ASICS Ushers in the New Season with the Release of the Spring-Ready GEL-MC PLUS™
A silhouette with a retro aesthetic and a futuristic approach to cushioning.

While ASICS has introduced several new models to its extensive lineup of sports footwear, the GEL-MC PLUS™ sets itself apart with a design created from the ASICS running archive that’s reimagined as a bold lifestyle offering. Coming through in a range of colorways suited for the spring season, the GEL-MC PLUS™ in “Lichen Green / Birch” adds a natural touch to any wardrobe lineup. This stylish sneaker with an athletic-leaning edge was made by modifying the GEL-CUMULUS® 17 to evolve the original design’s retro aesthetic.
The GEL-MC PLUS™ sneaker was originally created by GEL-LYTE™ III designer Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1995. Mitsui’s running shoe design has been reworked to feature an upper with a leather and mesh construction. The updated midsole on the GEL-MC PLUS™ is engineered to include the running shoe tooling from the GEL-CUMULUS® 17. To further emphasize the idea of “Motion Control” with the GEL-MC PLUS™ sneaker, this silhouette also has a nylon midfoot strap on the medial angle that helped runners in the ’90s reduce pronation. Those who wear this sneaker will enjoy the retro vibes of the shoe and notice the brand’s advanced approach to long-lasting cushioning. The style takes us into a new season with its technical roots combined with a street-ready look.
The GEL-MC PLUS™ is available now on ASICS’ website.
