Released in 2021, New Balance‘s 57/40 is now set to receive another makeover with DAHOOD. This news comes shortly after the footwear brand dropped a collaboration with Japanese imprints N. HOOLYWOOD, mita x WHIZ LIMITED and atmos last week.
To continue its retro flair, the new silhouettes are packaged in limited-edition blister pack shoeboxes — mimicking nostalgic ’80s and ’90s-era toy packaging. There are even illustrations that reference classic American hand-painted advertisements.
Constructed with different materials, the new 57/40 sneakers are dressed in mesh with suede overlays across the mudguard, collars and eyestays, and incorporate premium leather on the lower portion of the heels. Branding can be found in the form of embroidery on the tongue and on the midfoot with a vintage New Balance logo. The upper is covered in different-colored patches while white midsoles atop black slip-resistant outsoles complete the look.
The second round of NB’s new kicks arrives in five colorways including the M5740TB with asymmetrical coloring, the M5740GD in tan/navy/pink, and the M5740GA in yellow/green. Women’s versions include the yellow-accented W5740GC and the tonal-blue W5740LB.
For those that are interested, New Balance’s new 57/40 sneakers are now available in limited quantities at select DAHOOD HUB stores.
