COMME des GARÇONS HOMME has linked up with New Balance to build a stark take on the 574. Mixing a monochromatic color scheme with special branding and unique translucent paneling, this COMME des GARÇONS collaboration offers understated flair in a premium fashion.
Black leather and mesh make up the lion’s share of the upper, but quarter panels offer a compelling material divergence from the rest of the build. They’re constructed from a semi-translucent synthetic ripstop material, under which sits two different branded hits: the lateral side supplies CdGH and New Balance spellouts, while the medial side serves up a classic New Balance logo.
The only divergences in color arrive via a white tongue tag with black branding, a small “Engineered by New Balance” tag under the medial collar, mini NB heel hits and small pops of white stitching towards the forefoot. If you peer into the insole, you’ll also see cut-off CdG spellout motifs. An all-black heel clip provides stability, heel tabs aid with entry/removal and the look is completed by a black ENCAP midsole with a final dash of white.
If you’re looking to grab a pair of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME x New Balance 574, you can now via Dover Street Market. The MSRP is set at £235 GBP (approximately $324 USD).
