Sony Officially Releases Its FX3 Cine-Cam
Priced slightly more than the A7S III.
Sony has officially released its FX3 cine camera. While highly-comparable to the A7S III, this new camera was made to cater to those specifically doing video work.
This compact camera features a 4K 10.2MP full-frame sensor, 15+ stops of DRAF, an attachable XLR handle (secured in place where the A7S III’s viewfinder is located), in-camera image stabilization, front and rear tally lamps, a vari-angle LCD touch panel monitor, and uses the FX9’s S-Cinetone color science.
The shorter camera features a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body with a built-in cooling fan. The body also sees five 1/4-20 threaded mounting points to be used with a number of set-ups, including one that involves Sony’s new Airpeak drone.
Priced just slightly more than the A7S III, the Sony FX3 is available now for $3,898 USD. Watch the video below for the full list of specs.
