J.I.D. Drops Powerful New Single "Skegee"
The Dreamville rapper touches on the horrifying Syphilis Experiments that took place in Tuskegee, Alabama.
J.I.D. has dropped off his brand new single, “Skegee.”
Produced by longtime collaborator Christo, the “Skegee” is set in and inspired by Tuskegee, Alabama and hears the Atlanta rapper touching on the horrifying Syphilis Experiments that took place in the Southern city between 1932 and 1972. The powerful cut also features former Tuskegee mayor Ronald D. Williams, and serves as an important release during Black History Month as it speaks both to the past and present.
“Skegee” is J.I.D.’s fourth official solo release of 2021, following “Cludder,” “Ballads” and “Bruuuh” with a remix featuring Denzel Curry. The Dreamville signee is set to release his third studio album The Forever Story some time this 2021, but an official release date is yet to be announced.
