Artist Creates Hyper-Realistic Super Mario-Themed Sushi
Can I interest you in a uni gunkan Goomba?
Japanese polymer clay artist Nendozaiker SNAIL is finding his own way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. by doing what he does best — creating video game-themed works of art.
His latest project arrives in the form of a full sushi platter (made from clay of course) with each piece of nigiri resembling a character from the world of Super Mario. Characters like Toad, the Blooper, Mario, Super Star, Question Block, and Thwomp are all there. There’s even a uni gunkan Goomba.
Using only polymer clay, household items for texturing, and paint, the finished product looks realistic enough to eat. Watch the making-of video above.
