The New Balance 2002R Gets Treated With a Stealthy New Makeover
Another clean and versatile GR to add to the rotation.
Thanks to the well-executed collaborations by the likes of Salehe Bembury, thisisneverthat, FDTML and more, the New Balance 2002R has catapulted itself within the ranks of highly sought-after lifestyle models. Following its recent unveilings in all-grey and pastel blue, the silhouette has now been produced with the minimal all-black treatment.
Nubuck is the primary material of choice here that forms is upper build, the material being completely inundated with a stark black hue as it makes out the various overlays. Accents, while used sparingly are present through the reflective paneling which distributes to various areas such as the mid-foot, borders of the “N’ logos, forefoot, heightened territory of the heels and the lower throat. Slime green hits are used conservatively atop the lateral wall’s rear “2002R” notation, as well as on the “new balance” lettering which rests on the tongues.
As you move downward, the entire textured midsole that features exposed ABZORB cushioning towards the back end and treading alike are also stained with stealthy skins.
Detailed photos of the pair are shown up top, and note that these are now available to buy via New Balance for $140 USD.
If you’re on the hunt for additional sneaker news, a foggy New Balance 327 colorway has just dropped.
