ASICS Pays Homage to Japan With NOVABLAST TOKYO "Sunrise Red/Black"
Liven up your daily running sneaker.
Japanese sportswear brand ASICS is celebrating its roots with a new take on its NOVABLAST running-meets-lifestyle sneaker, introducing the TOKYO “Sunrise Red/Black.”
The “TOKYO” part of the sneaker’s name has been added to the NOVABLAST’s lateral rear-quarter and further celebrates the shoe company’s Japanese heritage, just like the colorway that pays homage to the city itself. For the shoe itself, you can find its breathable jacquard mesh upper decorated in the “Sunrise Red” hue, while synthetic black overlays make out ASICS’ signature stripe motif.
More black detailing has been added to the heel, where a geometric print makes for contrasting definitions to the shoe. The same pattern can be found on the ASICS-branded tongue tag, which leads the eye down to the black fabric tongue. Rounding out the shoe is its incredibly comfortable and energy-returning FLYTEFOAM BLAST™ midsole and AHARPLUS™ rubber outsole, of which the former has been stated in “Sunrise Red” on the white foam base. A gradient of white and orange splits the midsole from the upper, completing the shoe’s dynamic aesthetic.
