Founded in Japan in 1975 by Isamu Tatsuno, Montbell is one the OGs when it comes to functional outerwear. Known for producing lightweight outdoors-focused products, the brand’s traditional ethos of “Function is Beauty” remains and its heart to this day.
For 2021 the brand has crafted a collection ready to tackle the wettest of days. Its Rain Trekker jacket — which arrives in “Off White”, “Garnet” and “Indigo” — is the epitome of this, boasting a 3-layer DRY-TEC waterproof fabric, innovative dry-lining technology and water-resistant zips.
Its O.D. Anorak — coming in either “Ink Blue” or black — is a lighter option, but equally as protective. Treated with Polkatex water-repellent, the jacket boasts a durable DWR finish and breathable mesh lining on the inside, while the jacket itself can be folded up into its large chest pocket, for when the weather takes a positive turn.
