Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to social media over the weekend to announce his comedic biographic sitcom, Young Rock, set to debut on NBC on February 16.

Young Rock is expected to provide audiences with a humorous behind-the-scenes look at The Rock‘s childhood and upbringing in a legendary wrestling family. The show takes audiences back to the early 1990s, when Johnson’s University of Miami football career takes off, but circumstances push him towards an WWE career, pioneered by his father, Rocky Johnson and grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia. Johnson later goes on to become one of the largest WWE stars in the history of the profession.

Three actors are slated to portray The Rock at different stages of his life. Adrian Groulx plays a 10-year-old Johnson, Bradley Constant plays high school Johnson, and Uli Latukefu as college-Johnson. The Rock himself, is expected to executive produce the NBC TV series.

Dropping the show’s trailer one day after the first anniversary of the death of his father, he acknowledges the loss and writes, “I really wish my dad was around to see this one. Maaaaan he would’ve been proud.” The first look trailer begins with a series of action scenes from Johnson’s recent films, with a narrated voice overlay setting the scene for the biographic series, “Every hero has an origin story, but not a full mustache at age 15. It’s The Rock’s true-life story, from then to now.”

In case you missed it, a rare Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson University of Miami football card sells for $14K USD at auction.
