Han Kjøbenhavn Showcases Dramatic Silhouettes in FW21 Collection
Marking its third consecutive season at Milan Fashion Week.
This Fall/Winter 2021 fashion cycle marks the third consecutive season Han Kjøbenhavn has shown at Milan Fashion Week.
The Danish label had recently given audiences a taste of the anticipated collection in a set of teaser images taken from the fashion movie presented in Milan. Founder and creative director of Han Kjøbenhavn, Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen states its importance: “Becoming an established part of the Milan Fashion Week’s calendar, with its strong heritage and international recognition, is an important step in the journey of Han Kjøbenhavn.”
This season, the collection is titled “Sweet Melancholia” and is greatly inspired by Davidsen’s present mindset, “It’s the mental ’sweet spot’, where the darkness takes over and you feel enlightened — Where the darkness feels progressive. It’s a creative potent place to be, a place created by the power of the uncontrollable.”
The collection strongly relies on angular shapes and rigid lines to create its dramatic silhouettes. Intermixed with refined craftsmanship techniques, “Sweet Melancholia” features unique tailoring that blends metal and lace details to contour the human body. Throughout the collection, full one-tone suits are an overpowering and theatrical visual that effectively stands out amongst other pieces. Voluminous coats and dresses in floral patterns are accentuated by fine Italian cotton, heavy-weighted leather and faux fur. The earthy tones are a binding theme throughout the FW21 collection.

The release date and price information have yet to be announced but the collection is expected to launch later this year.
