MTV‘s annual Video Music Awards presentation took an unusual tact for 2020: moving the high-profile program outdoors in the name of social distancing. The show was no less explosive, however, with a bevy of celebrity appearances and performances mostly held at New York’s Skyline Drive-In.

Lady Gaga was the night’s biggest winner, taking home four prizes across the nearly two-dozen categories, also boosting Ariana Grande on the strength of their “Rain On Me” collaboration. The Weeknd notched a pair of awards for his “Blinding Lights,” taking time during an award speech to voice support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Elsewhere, Taylor Swift joined via video call to accept her nod for directing Folklore standout “The Man” while Maluma hit the stage to celebrate his J Balvin feature, “Qué Pena,” scooping the Best Latin award. Meanwhile, BTS grabbed a quartet of Moon Men statues and celebrated with a virtual reality performance of “Dynamite.”

Below, view the night’s big winners and review MTV’s recent pre-VMA inclusivity-minded art exhibition.
