The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards is well underway tonight, with Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay hosting the event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

The 2026 edition is crowning a fresh slate of television’s best, with The Pitt and Hacks leading the tally against a crowded field that included Widow’s Bay, Pluribus and The Diplomat. Noah Wyle took Lead Actor in a Drama Series for The Pitt, Rhea Seehorn earned Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Pluribus, and Jean Smart landed another Lead Actress in a Comedy Series win for Hacks. The night’s standout feat belonged to Matthew Rhys, who doubled up with Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Widow’s Bay and Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for The Beast in Me. Elsewhere, DTF St Louis took Best Limited or Anthology Series, The Traitors won Reality Competition Series, and South Park claimed Outstanding Animated Program.
