Logic Says He'll Drop A New Mixtape If Petition Gets 1 Million Signatures
A project featuring Logic rapping over other people’s beats.
Although he recently retired and began streaming on Twitch, Logic now says he may share an unreleased mixtape with the public. In a recent interview, the retired rapper talked about his beatmaking process, where he then began to play some unreleased material of himself rapping over several established beats from other artists. He revealed around 29-minutes into the video before stating he has an entire mixtape’s worth of material to release.
During a track rapped over Polo G, Stunna 4 Vegas, and NLE Choppa‘s “Go Stupid,” Logic stated he was planning on releasing a mixtape where he rapped over everyone’s beats. After being jokingly told he would start a petition to have the music heard by interviewer Huff Barili, Logic responded “I don’t know, I don’t think people want that.” After making this statement, he played another track where he rapped over Kendrick Lamar‘s “Rigamortis.”
Barili asked, “you got all this music bro and you’re just gonna lock it up in a vault?” before Logic responded “Yeah.” “Who gives a shit? … I don’t know, I don’t think anybody really wants a free mixtape with me… I like the idea of rapping on other people’s beats, because it was fun, brought a hunger in me,” he continued. “It was super fun to do, but I don’t know.”
Although the comment of a petition was shrugged off, a real petition from Barili is currently live on Change.org at almost 15,000 signatures and counting.
