DUCKWRTH Delivers Versatile and Uplifting New Album 'SuperGood'
Alongside a new “Super Bounce” visualizer featuring EARTHGANG.
DUCKWRTH‘s major label album debut is here, returning with his new project SuperGood out today via Republic Records. Through 16 songs, the rapper, singer and songwriter showcases just how versatile he is in an optimistic sonic landscape of warmth, nostalgia and soul.
His new offering follows last year’s critically-acclaimed THE FALLING MAN EP and on it, DUCKWRTH expands his sound through a newfound range and plenty of worthwhile experimentation. He taps EARTHGANG for “Super Bounce,” a track full of 90s nostalgia reminiscent of early Outkast offerings. Other features include Jean Deaux on “Money Dance” while G.L.A.M and Julia Romana also make memoerable contributions on “Coming Closer.”
“I wrote this album to celebrate the wondrous black music that molded me into an artist and the black women that made me a king. If this album can remind you of a time where you believed in magic, then I’ve done my job,” DUCKWRTH said in an open-letter with the album’s release. The artist is well aware that you’ve lost an entire summer quarantining as the coronavirus pandemic rages on, and he’s here to help you combat the feelings of isolation through 44 minutes of feel-good tracks, reminiscing on love and better days. As summer fades, spend the remaining time with SuperGood in your rotation because things aren’t all bad, after all.
