Ubisoft Drops 'Hyper Scape' Battle Royale Gameplay Trailer
Set in a futuristic city.
Seeing the success of Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone, Ubisoft has now created its own battle royale game, dropping the first gameplay trailer for the futuristic first-person shooter.
Named Hyper Scape, players are thrust into a futuristic, dystopian city inspired by Paris, where they’ll engage in a sport called Crown Rush. The sport pits 100 players together, grouped into teams of three. To win, your team will either have to eliminate all other teams or capture the crown objective during the game’s final phase and secure it for a full 45 seconds. Designed to be a fast-paced shooter, you’ll find various jump pads and speed boosts around the urban map, assisting you on your trajectory to victory.
Unlike other conventional battle royales, however, Ubisoft has made things more interesting by integrating Twitch into the game, and giving spectators a degree of influence over those contesting. During the upcoming technical testing stage, viewers will be able to vote on certain in-game perks such as granting all players unlimited ammunition, and when the full game drops, the program will extend to include battle pass progression as well as the ability to join your favorite streamers’ squads.
Hyper Scape will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Check out the gameplay trailer above before the game launches this summer, or to learn more, head over to the Hyper Scape‘s website.
Elsewhere in gaming, PUBG Mobile has now made $3 billion USD in revenue from microtransactions alone.
