Ian Isiah Shares New "Loose Truth" Music Video Starring Essential Care Workers
His upcoming Chromeo-produced ‘AUNTIE’ project will release later this year.
Ian Isiah spent Independence Day debuting a soulful new single titled “Loose Truth” complete with a music video celebrating the essential workers on the frontlines fighting the coronavirus pandemic, Black Lives Matter activists and families and friends close to him. The visual follows “N.U.T.S” or (“N*GGA YOU THE SH*T”) and the announcement that his Chromeo-helmed AUNTIE project would be arriving later this summer.
Frequent collaborator Thuan Tran helmed the visual for “Loose Truth,” adding some nostalgic grain to the aesthetic to match the vintage funk and gospel sensibilities in the sonics. Ian shares the spotlight with Brooklyn’s essential workers and pays tribute to his community through candid shots of the BLCK MRCY Music Collective outside of brownstone stoops and in public gardens. Late last month Ian performed at the Black Power Live virtual music festival alongside Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors.
“This music video was made to show the world that direct support to local Black and POC essential workers is a top priority,” Ian said in a press release. “Each family blessed me tremendously and it’s my duty to return the love. Massive thanks to Cash App for partnering up with me to deliver that blessing – right back into their pockets. Small organizations matter just as much as large ones do. As a matter of fact, direct support is an immediate response. Put the blessings in the pocket nearest to you and enjoy the beauty in the return.”
