Video game giant The Sims is to become the basis of an all-new reality TV series entitled Spark’d, in which contestants compete for a cash prize of $100,000 USD.

Testing the creativity and imagination of its contestants, Spark’d will see players pitted against each other in a bid to win the title of the world’s most creative storyteller. Through a series of creative challenges to build stand-out characters, worlds and stories, the victorious creator will take home the six-figure prize. Judges for the show include singer Tayla Parx and YouTube star Kelsey Impicciche, two longtime fans of the game.

The above trailer for the show sees familiar elements like character creation and interior design in practice and against the clock. Casual Sims players can also compete in special challenges set for viewers watching from home.

Spark’d will air on TBS from July 17 and also be available to watch on YouTube via BuzzFeed Multiplayer.

In other news, Halo 3 is finally launching as a PC game next week.
