Xbox 360 exclusive Halo 3 will finally make its PC debut next weekend as part of The Master Cheif collection. PC gamers will be able to buy the title via the Microsoft Store or Steam and will be available for free as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers. Halo 3 is the capstone of the original Halo trilogy and will sit alongside Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo: Reach in the collection. 343 Industries has stated that Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 are scheduled to release at a later date.
Many speculate due to its initial popularity, that the title’s multiplayer feature will be the draw for players. The title is known for introducing a Forge mode that allowed players to manipulate where weapons and vehicles appear on a map. Customizable maps were a big part of what made Halo 3 feel so grand, and according to reports 343 Industries has recently been testing the forge, campaign, and multiplayer elements of the game with testers.
The news of Halo 3 arriving comes in advance of an upcoming Xbox Series X showcase for games on July 24, where it is speculated that 343 Industries will announce it has been developing a next-gen Halo Infinite title. Although it’s only been a couple of months since it released the Halo 2: Anniversary port, The Master Chief Collection is available at a discounted price due as part of the Steam Summer Sale.
Grab Halo 3 when it becomes available through The Master Chief Collection next week on July 14.
