'Horizon Zero Dawn's PC Port Receives Official Release Date
Available via Steam or the Epic Games Store.
After rumors surfaced in January regarding a much anticipated PC port for the 2017 PlayStation 4 hit Horizon Zero Dawn — which were subsequently confirmed by the head of PlayStation Worldwide Studios Herman Hulst himself — the PC version of the title has now received an official release date.
Due to arrive August 7, Horizon Zero Dawn will be available via both Steam and the Epic Games Store, where pre-orders are already open for roughly $40 USD.
For those unfamiliar, the futuristic action RPG was first released back in 2017 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive by Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Players experience the game through Aloy, a female hunter in a world that has been overrun by mechanical creatures. Using a variety of weapons including spears, bows and arrows, Aloy fights through these machines in an open world to uncover the story of her past, discovering new locations as well as side quests.
With a sequel — Horizon Forbidden West — announced earlier for the upcoming PlayStation 5, Horizon Zero Dawn‘s release on the PC will be the perfect entry point for gamers who have yet to explore this franchise.
