Selfridges has transformed its Corner Shop into the “bike shop of the future.” The space, which featured pop-ups from Burberry and Gucci earlier this year, will feature traditional bicycles as well as e-bikes and e-motorbikes and a range of cycling accessories.
The opening of the Bike Shop from Selfridges and Smartech coincides an increase in cycling over recent months, with 1.3 million bikes reported to have been bought in Britain during lockdown.
The various bikes available include e-bikes such as the Angell, one of the world’s lightest, and the foldable Smacircle as well as e-motorbikes starting at £10,000 GBP (approximately $12,735 USD). Additionally, more traditional models from Veloretti and Cheetah will be available alongside adult and child-sized penny farthings. Lastly, accessories including the Hovding Helmet, which comes with an inflatable collar for safety, and reusable facemasks to protect against pollution.
Take a look inside the space in the gallery above. The Selfridges Bike Shop by Smartech is open now and will run until August 16.
