HBO Offers Another Look at 'Lovecraft Country'
The upcoming dark fantasy horror series.
After releasing a first trailer back in May, HBO has now dropped another look at the upcoming dark fantasy horror series Lovecraft Country, showing off more of the terrors to come.
The series itself is based on Matt Ruff’s novel in 2016 titled Lovecraft Country, subsequently developed for television by Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams, while Misha Green will act as showrunner. Following the story of young Black man in the mid-1900s called Jim Crow, the plot sees him travel across a segregated country on a mission to find his missing father. To his surprise, instead of having to tackle racism, he ends up having to deal with various monsters reminiscent of those in the worlds of H.P. Lovecraft.
Bill Carraro, Yann Demange, Daniel Sackheim and David Knoller will all be executive producing alongside Peele and Abrams, as well as Green. The series will also star Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Courtney B. Vance, and Michael Kenneth Williams.
For those interested, Lovecraft Country will arrive on HBO some time this August.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Adult Swim has shared a first look at Rick and Morty‘s fifth season.
