Shoreline Mafia and Wiz Khalifa Sample Montell Jordan's Classic Party Anthem "This Is How We Do It"
From the collective’s upcoming ‘Mafia Bidness’ out later this month.
Shoreline Mafai and Wiz Khalifa have released the latest single from the collective’s upcoming Mafia Bidness project, “How We Do It” featuring a sample of Montell Jordan’s iconic 1990s party anthem “This Is How We Do It”. The track flips the original for an offering coated in codeine despite the upbeat tempo.
Fenix Flexin takes the reins here, ushering in a party atmosphere. “If I got it I’ma pop it, I’m in Neiman’s with my rocket/.30 hangin’ off my Off-White denim/ N*gga’s Patek tickin’ and they feelin’ like some children/ Hella wave baby, real niggas in the building,” he raps. His cohesion with Wiz is on-point as the Pittsburgh veteran waxes about his usual affinity for weed, diamonds and popping bottles in the club. It’s a brief recess from the current reality full of social distancing and remote connections.
It’s worth noting that Payroll Giovanni accomplished a similar feat back in June 2017 with “How We Move It”. Judge for yourself which one you like better, but both parties bring their own twist to the original sample.
