Ronnie Fieg, KITH and ASICS Reunite For GEL-LYTE III "Tokyo Trio"
“252.1,” “Yoshino Rose” and “Super Gold” colorways, all drawing from Tokyo culture and KITH lore.

Collaborative partners since 2007, Ronnie Fieg and ASICS have reunited once again for three special KITH-edition GEL-Lyte IIIs dubbed the “Tokyo Trio.” Paying homage to Tokyo culture as well as KITH’s past, present and future, each of the three shoes pulls its inspiration from a different source.
First in this three-pack is the “252.1.” A reimagining of Ronnie Fieg’s first ASICS collaboration — 2007’s “252 Pack” — the “252.1” is a two-part homage. As the “252 Pack” was inspired by a Japan-exclusive GEL-Lyte III colorway that Fieg wanted to bring to the US, this updated iteration retains most of the original “252” color palette but adds a few modern twists. Built almost entirely of suede, the design features a black base, salmon-colored toe, metallic gold Tiger stripes and a two-tone outsole.
Next is the “Yoshino Rose.” This floral-geared sneaker draws name and color alike from the Yoshino cherry tree, which is known for its beautiful blossoms. When in bloom, the cherry blossoms put forth a soothing shade of light pink — one that’s replicated on the Tiger Stripe atop white mesh and off-white suede. Pops of blue complete the look.
Finally, the “Super Gold” serves up a triumphant, medal stand-inspired build. A nod to the Tokyo Olympic Games, the “Super Gold” uses a supple white leather upper with red and blue accents for a possible nod to the US Olympic Team — whom Fieg and Kith designed tracksuits for. Metallic gold Tiger stripes add a finishing touch of style.
The KITH x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Tokyo Trio” will release on the KITH webstore at 11 A.M. ET on July 27. In-store, the “Tokyo Trio” will be limited to KITH’s Tokyo flagship, as well as its permanent shop-in-shop locations at Hirshleifers, Bergdorf Goodman and Selfridges. Each pair is priced at $180 USD.
