Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Reunite in New Amazon Comedy-Horror 'Truth Seekers'
Announced during Comic-Con@Home.
Amazon Prime Video has revealed an official teaser trailer for its upcoming comedy-horror series Truth Seekers starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The beloved comedy duo from director Edgar Wright‘s “Cornetto Trilogy” will star in the upcoming show, however, Frost will be the leading man this time around.
Set in a world where ghosts are commonplace, Frost stars as a part-time paranormal investigator who explores sitings in the U.K. alongside his team. According to an official plot synopsis:
“Truth Seekers” is a horror-comedy series about a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race.
Frost stars as Gus, Simon Pegg plays Dave, Samson Kayo as Elton, Malcolm McDowell as Richard, Emma D’Arcy as Astrid, and Susan Wokoma as Helen.
Truth Seekers was originally announced in 2018 as one of the first projects to come out of Pegg and Frost’s new production studio Stolen Pictures. Last year, the duo co-starred in the comedy-horror film Slaughterhouse Rulez. They also recently came together for a parody social-distancing PSA as their characters from Shaun of the Dead.
Although the new announcement trailer just arrived, there currently is no release date for Truth Seekers.
In other entertainment news, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson will join forces for new Futha Mucka cartoon.
