Nike‘s Air Zoom Type — a conceptual lifestyle version of Nike Running‘s record-setting Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% — has been revealed in a “Black/Hyper Pink” colorway. Designed by the Swoosh’s N. 354 sub-label, the Air Zoom Type is based off early Alphafly NEXT% design prototypes, and features an appealing work-in-progress look.

Uppers are made of a soft black synthetic suede, perforated towards the toebox and boasting a dotted Swoosh on the lateral side. Medial sides opt for a small hand-scrawled Swoosh, eyestays are made of black leather and the thin tongue features a large rectangular tag. The only divergence from the upper’s mix of blacks and greys arrives via the heel counter, which is built of supple tan leather.

Down below, midsoles repurpose the Alphafly NEXT%’s signature carbon fiber plate into a TPU iteration that holds together two halves of an asymmetrical, double-stacked midsole. These two layers of foam feature a classic cement print, and house the shoe’s signature detail: a duo of vibrant pink Zoom Air pucks in the forefoot. Black rubber outsoles round off the look.

The Nike Air Zoom Type “Black/Hyper Pink” will release via Nike SNKRS China on July 25, then likely hit the US in August. The MSRP is set at $150 USD.
