Adult Swim Shares First Look at 'Rick and Morty' Season Five
Caught in another in-and-out adventure.
With yet another successful season of Rick and Morty debuting late last year, fans have been looking forward to its fifth season for quite some months now. Taking the opportunity while Comic-Con@Home and Adult Swim Con are underway, Adult Swim has now released a first look at the upcoming season, featuring your two favorite characters once again in another in-and-out 20-minute adventure.
The trailer — which you can view above — is clearly still a work in progress, as the animation is still in its preliminary stages. It starts off with the dynamic duo in peril and running for their lives from a Kraken-looking space monster, Morty carrying a severely injured Rick in his arms, who obviously still manages to make a joke as they pass by Blade versions of themselves. As they escape from the nightmare to land back on Earth, Morty contemplates his death and makes one final call to his school crush Jessica, who manages to convince him to live. Now determined to stay alive, Morty fights for control of the damaged ship and ultimate crash lands into the ocean, where they’re greeted by Mr. Nimbus, Ricky’s “nemsis.”
Fans will also be delighted to know that even before the show’s season four debuted, Harmon had already confirmed that season six is in the works, so there’s going to be plenty more Rick and Morty to come.
In other entertainment news, Paramount has delayed both Top Gun: Maverick and A Quiet Place Part 2 once again.
