Adding to its lineup of animated features, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics have come together for a take on the iconic storyline from the 1980s, DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family. Offering a trailer, the film serves as the first interactive film presentation in Warner Bros. Home Entertainment history.

Comprised of five fascinating tales, DC Showcase – Batman: Death in the Family lets viewers relive the acclaimed Batman: Under the Red Hood animated movie with the ability to control how the story plays out. The interactive element is a callback to how DC Comics allowed fans to determine the fate of Jason Todd/Robin through phone-in voting advertised in its comics.

Fans ultimately decided on the Death in the Family storyline that saw Todd brutally beaten to death and blown up by The Joker. Todd is then resurrected with the Lazarus Pit that twists his mind to become the violent vigilante “Red Hood.”

Watch the trailer for DC Showcase’s Batman: Death in the Family above and look for the film to release sometime this fall on Blu-ray and Digital.
