atmos and adidas Originals Give the ZX 8000 a "Crazy Animal" Makeover
Five patterns and three materials collide on this wild style.

After starting in the future on a ZX Alkyne “Crazy Animal,” Japan’s atmos and adidas Originals are going back to the past with a ZX 8000 “Crazy Animal.” Much like its modernized predecessor, this classic adidas lifestyle silhouette is awash in prints, patterns and alternate materials — but unlike the aforementioned Alkyne, it adds a healthy dose of retro flair.
Five patterns and three main materials are present here. There’s zebra, tiger, leopard panther and snake-inspired embellishments on the upper, stretching across toeboxes, throats, quarters and overlays. From a material standpoint, these wildly-styled ZX 8000s use flocked fabric bases, textured white leather overlays and touches of reflective material on toe caps and heels alike. Dashing orange hits grace the tongue, heel clip, midfoot’s Three Stripes graphic and lace deubres. Down below, speckled EVA foam midsoles surround an orange Torsion shank and a gum outsole. Multiple lace options round things off.
The atmos x adidas Originals ZX 8000 “Crazy Animal” is set to release via the atmos webstore on July 29. The MSRP is set at ¥14,000 JPY (approximately $133 USD).
Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Allen Iverson and Reebok‘s classic Question Mid is set to return in its OG “Red Toe” colorway, complete with an original suede toebox.
