Logic Returns to His Red Jumpsuit for "Aquarius III" Music Video
“Off the internet, that’s when I’m at my happiest.”
Recently-retired rapper Logic returns with another music video from his final album No Pressure, waxing poetic about saying goodbye to his music career, his focus on family and more for “Aquarius III.”
On the album, Logic paired the track with “Open Mic//Aquarius III,” where he sampled The Roots‘ 2010 instrumental “A Peace of Light”, a song that also served as the base on Kendrick Lamar‘s “The Heart Pt. 2”. “Aquarius III” comes in at the 3:28 mark and Logic raps about welcoming his newborn son into the world and second guessing his decision as an artist in the early stages of his career. “Reflecting on memories from my childhood/ Bringing a baby in this world, I hope my child good/ All I ever gave a fuck about was my career/ But all that shit out the window now that my son is here.”
The song’s second half title is a reference to the spaceship operated by his characters Thomas and Khai on the rapper’s second studio album The Incredible True Story released in November of 2015. That might explain his red astronaut jumpsuit. The “Aquarius III” visual follows his recently released “Dadbod” music video. Earlier this week Logic thanked Drake and Kendrick Lamar for their support while bidding a tearful farewell.
“I’ve learned every day’s a good day/ Surrounded by people that love me/ Don’t want nothing from me but my happiness/ Off the internet, that’s when I’m at my happiest,” he continues. Logic signed a multi-million dollar Twitch deal earlier this month, so there’s a good chance he’ll be rather happy when he logs back onto the world wide web.
