New Jersey Rapper-Producer userdeleted_95 Returns With New "Space" Music Video
“I’m in the wrong space, I had to get right.”
New Jersey rapper-producer userdeleted_95 has returned with a new visual for his latest single “Space.” The offering, directed by collaborator Max Collazo, is an homage to staying home and quarantining, utilizing the time to craft new music and make sure the vibe is right.
The new track follows his full-length project Album Deleted, a short but undeniably sweet release that ran just 15 minutes long but showcased his promise. He melded murky yet electronic instrumentals and then pivoted to soulful samples and somehow made it all cohesive. He’s spent the past two years also making music under the pseudonym Foreigner McLaren and as one-half of New Jersey group Critical Boys.
On “Space” his half-whispered, half-slurred bars repeat the chorus of “I’m in the wrong space, I had to get right.” Part of what makes it an essential listen is the repetition, his off-kilter delivery and knack for playful melodies. His stream-of-consciousness flow is minimal and to the point and that’s a good thing. “I’m off of a bar/ At the bar/ Watching a good fight/ I’m a star/ I’m in the stars/ I’m in the sunshine,” he continues.
