Netflix Shares First Trailer for 'Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous' Animated Spin-Off Series
Taking place during the events of the original ‘Jurassic World’ film.
Netflix recently shared the first trailer for its upcoming Dreamworks animated series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, focusing on a group of kids attempting to survive yet another dinosaur outbreak in a Jurassic Park. The 8-episode series from DreamWorks Animation and executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow follows six teens trapped on the other side of Isla Nublar during the events of the original Jurassic World film. “When the events of the film unfold and dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes their very survival rests on the shoulders of themselves and their fellow campers,” reads an official synopsis.
In the trailer above, audiences are introduced to the situation and are treated to plenty of fan service nods to the original films, including a few shots directly inspired by famous scenes in the franchise. The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil and Top Gun: Maverick’s Glen Powell lead the voice cast, with the talent for the teen voices of the show including Paul-Mikél Williams, Jenna Ortega, Ryan Potter, Raini Rodriguez, Sean Giambrone, and Kausar Mohammed.
Netflix will premiere all eight episodes of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’ first season on September 18.
In related news, Jurassic World: Dominion, the third film in the World trilogy, is currently one of the first big blockbuster films back into production.
