Teyana Taylor has shared her third studio LP, The Album. The project follows nearly a year of teasing, with lead single “Morning” featuring Kehlani releasing on November 1, 2019. She’s since released “We Got Love” featuring Lauryn Hill, as well as “Wake Up Love” featuring husband Iman Shumpert. Taylor also released three promo songs ahead of the album: “How You Want It?,” “Made It” and “Bare Wit Me.”

The Album is Taylor’s first full-length since 2018’s K.T.S.E. (Keep That Same Energy) and was initially pegged for a December 2019 release, but was postponed in order to add more tracks. The project is divided into five different “studio” sections: A, L, B, U, and M. Each “studio” section carries its own theme, with L for example portraying Lust.

Taylor recently penned a piece for Billboard, noting why she decided to release the project on Juneteenth:

With releasing the album on Juneteenth, it’s important because if you noticed the lead singles that I led with were “Made It” and “We Got Love.” So I’ve always been here. I’ve always been about us being celebrated and celebrating my culture and my people. For everything to happen, from my album getting delayed and it falls perfectly on Juneteenth, yes, it’s a celebration.

The Album is chock full of material, supplying 23 tracks that span for nearly 80 minutes. For the project, she’s tapped features from the likes of Rick Ross, Erykah Badu, Quavo, Missy Elliott, Future, Big Sean, and more.
